Daddy, give me money!

Who remembers my obsession with the Hardrige-Colette collaboration boot? Anyone? Anyone? It wasn't made in women's sizes...Remember? 

 

Yeah, well.  Daddy didn't give me money...SO...

This -- from the Phi FW2010 collection.

It's nice...But not nice enough to warrant a trilogy of posts from the BOE. 

Rodney and His Polo Ralph Lauren "Cookie" Boots

This is my new friend, Rodney's Polo Ranger AKA "Cookie" Boots. They were reintroduced this past fall after selling out in 2008 but the original design comes from the mid-90s.

It sounds like the only real difference between these and the ones that were made in the 90s is the logo patch on the side of the boot and the variation of colors. When they were reintroduced it was debated rather heavily on the blogs whether or not the patch cheapened the style of the boot.

They look pretty good to me! 

I really like the gray color. These remind me of the Balenciaga boat boots I mentioned a few days ago.

How to buy the Hardrige and Colette Boots

More than one male friend of mine admittedly liked the Hardrige and Colette boots I mentioned a couple weeks ago.  After some research I've found a link for you to buy at the Colette boutique online. Unfortunately the website is not user friendly, it is French after all. (JUST KIDDING - I'm actually falling in love with french culture more and more everyday)

They're $680 US.  I know, it's ridiculous but they're soooo sexy!! 

I'd buy them too if I could - but they only come in 5 sizes. I have full-blown Boot Envy.

Hardrige & Colette Boots: If ya can't beat em, wear their boots

I just found these Hardrige & colette Boots on a website called Definitive Touch, a blog for men's fashion.  

I can't tell you what I would do to a man walking by me in these boots. It's illegal in all states and bad for my reputation but if he was a small man with small feet I'd try to knock him unconscious and snatch em off.

Buyers of these boots beware: When walking the streets of NY do not run in to the Boot-Obsessed Eccentric. She is not opposed to wearing men's clothing, least of all their boots.

 
I think they would look nice with skinny jeans and a flannel shirt. I can also see wearing them with a long flowing skirt to offset the masculinity of the boot similar to how some women feminize Doc Martens.

I love all of the fine details of the boot--the snake skin toe and tongue, zippers on the side,  the 2 chunky straps, contrasting grays and blacks....

These definitely Kick Ass.
